Telecommunications and other outsourcing services growing a business strategy
Outsourcing is a growing trend these days. It refers to a process in which certain business functions and processes are entrusted to a third company that specializes in those jobs. Outsourcing services, telecommunications, software development services, insurance, information technology and accounting and finance are the most common business process outsourcing companies in Asian countries like India, China and the Philippines.
First, business process outsourcing as a concept of corporate strategy was not really recognized as it looks today. During the early stages of its development, jobs, small size and low quality, such as cleaning and security services, were the only jobs that were outsourced in the United States. But today, business processes are outsourced almost every hour. These include IT services, customer care, graphic design services and web content services.
Perhaps because of its numerous advantages, many international companies now see outsourcing as a powerful tool and business strategy in order to optimize the ability to gain profits of all their activities. Outsourcing allows them to reduce costs and focus on core business processes. With the current economic situation in which the recession affects significantly the chances of earning their business, outsourcing the work to serve as a viable option to ignore this difficult situation.
Many foreign companies enjoy enormous benefits from outsourcing some of their core processes and no peripheral business for providers of third-party business process outsourcing, which are mostly based in third world countries like India and China. The entire process enables these international companies to devote their attention and resources for their business processes. There are basically none of the core business processes that tend to swallow a huge part of their resources and eat so much of their valuable time, thus limiting the potential growth of the company.
In addition, outsourcing of telecommunications servicesand other company made cost savings benefits for many companies. The shortage of qualified workers who have the technical capability to perform specific functions does not impose a problem on countries like India, Philippines and China. Despite the costs of cheap labor that most business process outsourcing companies to offer these countries, India and the Philippines are both well applauded for providing quality results according to U.S. standards and international.
But just like any normal business solutions, outsourcing comes with several disadvantages that tend to prevent others from venturing into the business process outsourcing. A risk of outsourcing is the loss of management control over the functions and business process outsourcing. Although tied with a written contract, the transfer of full management control of a third-party companies may have an impact as expected outputs of the business process outsourcing companies are not motivated by the same vision and the drive that the company has. Management will be driven by profit from the services these companies provide business process outsourcing.
Since this problem has been overshadowed by the many benefits that American and European based companies get from outsourcing, it is clear that the telecommunications services business process outsourcing and other rapidly-evolving in a continuous phase. Evidence of this is the variety of offshore outsourcing services, which are now offered by providers of offshore outsourcing....
