Do You Believe Salary has no place in a sales environment?

I'm old school businessman who believes the salary has no place in a retail environment. I suppose the reason why every company has a salary in a sales environment with a small commission is not their employees are willing to work strictly on commission.

I remember in the eighties and nineties interviewing people for a commission sales job, selling a product that every company needed and used. It 's been a week to 20 hours with very high rate of commission, two sales a week would equal a whole dollar in the traditional 40 weeks of work hours. The average sales person I was sold from five to eight deals a week, earning an average of $ 800.00/week. Most applicants were afraid of the Committee wants a salary instead. I found shocking because they knew he was a sales job are applying for. True sales people like the challenge of closing deals, how to be self-sufficient, making their hours and earn an income above the average.

I assume that many companies experienced these types of situations, found a way to give people a living wage, and reduce labor costs at the same time. In business it is to give people what they want, if the salary is what the masses want, then so be it.

Currently we have a new job title for sales teams: you call the customer service. It 's great for companies, because not only do a deal with the concerns of customers' employees, but also the person responsible to sell or offer new programs. They get their salary and a sort of added bonus sells for more than one team, maybe a free meal cream sandwiches, coffee, or ice.

There are still sales professionals of today who would not agree to have a paycheck. For example, real estate agents who make their fortunes selling houses, do you think would trade for salary, bonus and small? When times slow to come, they collect enough money to ride the storm.

In my opinion there is nothing like the store, the feeling that educate and sell someone a product that will use or profit. In today's world there are risks in the same job as a sales job salary. With so many closures and layoffs, there is a very short life in the labor market, living paycheck to pay check does not leave any fat for lean times. Commissioned sale you have an opportunity to make real money, live a decent life, and as I said before the bank enough to wait for the storm.

If the backbone of every country is growing small firms than in large ones, then we must appreciate the owner who took the risk, and the seller that has helped them to put on paper through the promotion and sale of their goods and services.

If you are a person who has considered leaving your dead end job for a life as a person in charge of sales, once the first sale, you'll never look back .......
