How to protect my PC from online threats?


This is a question I've often heard people ask. There are many ways on how you can protect your PC. However, in this article, I will tell you five tips on how you can protect your PC from online threats.

1. Antivirus

Antivirus can protect your PC from viruses, and whether there are some suspicious activity going on in your PC. Some have the shield antivirus e-mail and scan your email for threats. I personally recommend Avast! Antivirus. If you do not have any antivirus, get one now.

2. Firewall

Firewall is a great way to prevent the traffic that enters and leaves your PC. In this manner, the information stored in your PC will never be stolen and you can watch the network for suspicious applications.

3. Never open e-mail Unknown

Email is a good way to communicate, and is also a good way to send virus attachment. Opening an e-mail unknown increases the risk of having an attack of Trojan or spyware attack. If you received an e-mail unknown, delete it immediately.

4. Uninstall any unwanted software

Unwanted software may be spyware or adware and could slow the internet connection. Therefore, if there are software that you know in your add / remove list, uninstall it.

5. Using other web browsers

Many people use Internet Explorer as your web browser, but I suggest you use other web browsers in order to reduce the threat. People tend to hijack Internet Explorer because it is a widely used browser.
