Watch Out For Bad Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Company

Many times I come across companies that tell me I have been contacted by a company search engine optimization and are confused by what they said. I'm excited because he fell for a sales pitch, but I do not understand a thing that was said. So, they want a second opinion and am happy to enlighten them.

The reason why many people are confused by the SEO is because they really do not understand all the things that go into a good SEO marketing plan. Many unscrupulous SEO companies try to scare to buy expensive "tricks" that "to ensure your position on search engines." If someone says you can never guarantee your position on a search engine that are not telling the truth. Nobody can guarantee your position. Unless you use a phrase that no one would ever use. Ex "apple pie Grandma's Restaurant in Toms River, NJ 08753" (with quotes) In addition, they could attract even saying that you do not pay unless you get 100 visitors to your web site per month. I never heard that these visits are usually visits to quality. Just visiting. Or great is when you use an online tool to show all the things that are wrong with your website and for a fee that can solve the problem for you. Bad SEO is also possible to use the door or hidden pages, page stuffing, duplicate content and many other tricks that will eventually get you banned from search engines.

A red flag is when an SEO do not ask the current traffic. When you have an existing website is very important to review what is happening. Your website must have capacity for statistical analysis. In other words do you know how many visitors are coming to your web site? From which countries? Which pages they land on? How long does it stop? Etc. Etc. Any SEO right mind would ask this question. Many do not have to be very careful. The list of bad SEO tricks is endless. The good news is that there are many large SEO firms out there as well.

Here are some things you can do yourself.

If you are just tweaking your website's Meta and Title tags think that is all you need to do, then you are wrong. (Google does not look at the keyword tags more). This must be done and done correctly, but there are also many other things to do. Including having content that relates to what your website is all. The phrase "content is king" applies strongly to rank higher on search engines. After all, the content is what customers are looking for. A site that is devoid of content is a site that you spend thousands of dollars on PPC campaigns and never rank high on the organic results.

Want to update your website often? Search engines like fresh content as the content fresher, the better. A great way to do this is to have a blog on your site and make sure to update your home page with new content as well.

Are you using social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)? You answer questions related to industrial activities on online forums? If so, are you making sure that the profiles are complete and connects to your website? You are submitting articles on your industry to third party websites with links to your site? That way if someone likes what you have to say that they can contact you.

Are you a supplier to a manufacturer? How about a member of the local chamber of commerce? Do both sites have complete business profiles with links to your website?

What about online directories including Google, Yahoo and Bing Local? Is your business listed? If so is the information correct? Do you have multiple offices or shops that have their own list? Are you using all the free services that offer search engines for your business?

As you can imagine there are many other legitimate things you can do to increase traffic to your website and have helped clients with SEO before the term was invented. And I repeat it. Just the code to distinguish your website is important but not sufficient. Be smart and if it seems too good to be true run.
